Asus Eee PC 900The phenomenal Asus Eee PC is back! Following its success with the Eee PC, Asus launches Asus Eee PC 900. Now with a wider screen but still maintain its lightness.

Asus Eee PC 900 comes with a 8.9 inch wide-screen and 1024×600 resolution, wider than the previous ones that used a 7 inch screen. Eee PC 900 is also equipped with a 1.3 MegaPixel webcam, FingerGlide navigation system on its touch-pad, and the storage capacity of 12 GB for Windows XP Operating System, and 20 GB for Linux. Its weight is still under 1 kilograms.

For its storage, Asus Eee PC 900 uses the Solid State Disk (SSD) technology. This technology is the same with the technology used for USB flash drives. Compared to hardisks that use moving components, SSD is believed to be more secure to damage caused by shock.

Although small, Asus Eee PC 900 has a complete connectivity features. There’s a D-SUB port to use it with an external monitor, and you’ll have 3 USB ports and an SD Card slot. So, if you need extra storage, you can just use a large capacity SD Card that are cheap these days. There are also a headphone and a microphone socket, although there’s already a built-in microphone, it’s always better to use a proper headset when you’re using Skype :D

The Windows version of Asus Eee PC 900 will come with Windows Live features like Windows Live Messenger for instant messaging, and also Windows Live Mail. It also has Microsoft Works.

While for the Linux version, Asus Eee PC 900 has a user friendly interface and easy to use. This version is suitable for children or beginner users. Linux has a short boot-up time, so it fits for quick use.
