Sanyo Xacti CA65
I bought this camera last week, and so far I’m satisfied with it. The Sanyo Xacti CA65 lets you take pictures and videos easily. You can control what to take just with your thumb :D

Sanyo Xacti CA65 uses an SD Card for its storage. Actually it has an internal memory, but not large. The internal memory is used when you have ran out of memory on your SD Card, it automatically saves what you take into the internal memory.

With Sanyo Xacti CA65, you can take pictures up to 10 MegaPixels. It is actually a 6 MP camera, but you can use the highest mode which is said to be 10 MP. With the 10 MP mode, the pictures are 3680×2760 in size. How about the video? Sanyo Xacti CA65 is using the high compression codec, MPEG4. It can produce a DVD quality videos. I’ve tried it, and the quality of the videos it take are not bad at all, in fact, they’re good :)

Sanyo Xacti CA65 comes with a lithium battery and a seperate desktop charger, which means you don’t have to charge the battery using the device. You can buy a spare battery, and charge it while using the other battery. That’s what I really like about batteries that can be charged by a desktop charger.

One thing that’s really special is that Sanyo Xacti CA65 is a waterproof camera. Honestly, I haven’t tested it myself, but Sanyo claims that you can use it up to 1.5 meters in the water. What matters most for me is that I can bring it to the beach or the pool without having to worry that water will damage my camera. I can even shoot in the rain!

For other features, I think they’re just like other digital cameras. It has a timer, zoom, macro, white balance, and so many things that I don’t really understand. I’m not a technician, I’m just a user :D But don’t worry, it comes with a manual that’s really helpful.

On the package, you get some great softwares, including the Adobe Premiere Elements 3.0 to edit and make DVDs from the footages you take, and the Photoshop Album Starter Edition to organize your photos. Oh yes, you can edit your photos and videos right from within the camera, like splitting or joining videos.

Overall, I’m satisfied with this camera. I can take pictures and movies really easily. I can even take pictures while shooting videos. The quality it produces may not be the best out there, but for people like me, who doesn’t care about all those techie things, who just want to take great pictures and great videos, and who’s not a professional photographer, this gadget may be the one you need.

Below is a video sample I took with Sanyo Xacti CA65. This video is taken while my sister was getting married, the people in this video are the camera crews.
